In the late 19th Century, Giuseppe Cappellano gave birth to a series of wine pharmaceutical products including grape jellies and Barolo Chinato. The recipe is still the same since then: hand crushing 20+ spices, notably quinine, hence the name, soaking them in ethyl alcohol and then marry them with current vintage Barolo.

Service tips: So versatile! Serve it at 10C with an amazing dark chocolate. Or make a Negroni or Americano. If it's an hot day, just serve it on soda with orange rind.
