Olek made this wine with the aim of strengthening his Barbaresco in the particularly challenging 2024 vintage. After three days of maceration and the initial stages of fermentation, he drew off some juice from the Barbaresco vats to increase their concentration. The result is a wine of its own charm — carrying the vibrant, fresh fruit of a rosé yet the depth, elegance, and finesse that define Olek’s finest reds.

Olek has been making wine under his own label since 2004. His farm, La Berchialla, located in Località Tre Stelle in Barbaresco, has been in his family for over two centuries. This remarkable property sits atop the hill of the Roncagliette cru — the same vineyard that includes Gaja’s Sorì Tildin. Olek produces two Barbaresco from the crus Roncagliette and Starderi, each reflecting his precise, artisanal touch. More recently, he has acquired half a hectare in Barolo — exciting developments yet to unfold.
